Hey, girls!
 
It really irks me when I'm talking to my friends and nobody knows what Doctor Who is!
So this is basically explaining Doctor Who.
 

On Saturday, November 23, 1963, BBC aired the first episode of Doctor Who. Yes, the day after President Kennedy was assassinated. Worried not many people had seen it, the producers decided to air it again the following Saturday, along with the second episode.
After the 8th Doctor, the show died down for a few years, but BBC came back with the Ninth Doctor in 2005. This series really stands alone from the other few.
There have been 11 Doctors since the beginning of the show, but there has been talking of a Twelfth.

The Doctor is time-travelling, humanoid alien from a race known as the Time Lords from the planet Gallifrey. The Doctor is the last of his kind, and if injured badly, can regenerate (which starts off a new actor). His time machine, a blue police call box (which was common in England at the time of the first episode), is called the TARDIS, or Time and Relative Dimensions in Space.

The 9th Doctor was portrayed by Christopher Eccleston.
10th - David Tennant
11th - Matt Smith

In my opinion, the best Doctor-Companion pair was Ten and Rose Tyler.
